- Version 3.97 (Jan 17 1997)
-
- ∙ From now on three archives will be released:
- qed-XXXd.lzh (German)
- qed-XXXe.lzh (English)
- qed-XXXs.lzh (sources)
- ∙ The file matching patterns for local parameters will now be treated
- indepedent of the type of spelling. The relationships should now be
- alright on VFAT and MacFS.
- ∙ AV-Protokoll:
- - AV_SENDKEY: ^W for `global window cycling' and all function keys
- not assigned.
- - AV_PATH_UPDATE for the clipboard file.
- - AV_DRAG_TO_WINDOW for files from projects on the system
- desktop.
- ∙ Hypertext extended, documentation in TeX format abandonned.
- ∙ Drag&Drop slightly modified:
- - when a filename is dragged onto a text window, a new window will
- be opened,
- - with the ALT-key pressed the file contents will be inserted into
- the text buffer,
- - for each filename dragged with the Shift-key pressed a new line
- will be inserted.
- ∙ When "printing" into a file via GDOS the output path can be freely
- defined.
- ∙ New switch to change to MS-Dog-like block functions:
- - mark a block with CTRL-Up/Down/Left/Right,
- - copy a block with CTRL-Home,
- - delete a block with CTRL-Delete,
- - insert a block with CTRL-Insert.
- This new feature required some modifications:
- - wordwise backspace now on Shift-BS (formerly CTRL-BS),
- - wordwise delete now on Shift-Delete (formerly CTRL-Delete),
- - function 'Erase to end of buffer' (formerly Shift-Delete) no
- longer available.
- ∙ When selecting `optional' in the Search & Replace dialog the alert
- box that prompts you for a decision remembers its position.
- ∙ Searching in text buffers and projects no longer uses distinct dialog
- boxes.
- ∙ qed now runs correctly from a command line shell and now understands
- Unix paths (e. g. /etc/profile) as arguments.
- ∙ SE protocol 1.03
- ∙ qed no longer checks for enough disk space on the device while
- writing a file. When running out of space, qed will inform you and
- delete the incompletely saved file.
- ∙ When saving with backup qed will now try first to append the selected
- backup extension entirely at the old name (test.c -> test.c.bak).
- In case the file system isn't capable to handle the new name the old
- extension will be replaced by the new one instead (test.c ->
- test.bak).
- ∙ Bug with font change: Now iconified windows will be notified and
- when using proportional fonts the window size will not change but
- slightly.
- ∙ qed no longer sends an OLGA_BREAKLINK.
- ∙ Project entries can now be comfortably selected/deselected.
- ∙ D&D: qed supports only ARGS and .TXT because CAT3 doesn't provide a
- line separator for .ASC files.
- ∙ qed loads empty files again.
- ∙ qed runs with Let'em Fly (Nicelines) again.
- ∙ Redraw error for OK button in print dialog box.
-
- Version 3.90 (Sep 15 1996)
-
- ∙ Now UNIX pathnames are allowed in errorfiles, too
- ∙ HELP marks word under cursor and sends it to the help program
- ∙ English hypertext, translated by Guido Flohr
- ∙ SE-protocol 1.02
- ∙ The new MyDials are definitely needed now. qed uses the new register
- cards and the special characters box.
- ∙ Before saving qed checks for enough space available on the medium.
- ∙ qed searchs its resource file in $QED and not in $PATH.
- ∙ If nothing has been found while searching in a project the new
- resulting project will be closed immediately.
- ∙ If OLGA is available, qed will make the server.
- ∙ No more empty lines arbitrarily inserted.
- ∙ Wordwise Delete/Backspace changed a little bit.
- ∙ Color icons (finally!)
- ∙ New chapter in hypertext: Keystroke commands
- ∙ When wrapping lines while loading qed will give notice.
- ∙ Search history is now unique, no identical entries anymore.
- ∙ ^TAB marks word under cursor.
-
- Version 3.82 (May 09 1996)
-
- ∙ [Weekly updates in order to be able to burn a CD-ROM-version.]
- ∙ In 3.81 the file backup was completely bogus.
-
- Version 3.81 (May 03 1996)
-
- ∙ Menu items 'Close' and 'Delete ' were partly mixed up internally.
- ∙ File systems using case-sensitive file names weren't handled
- correctly.
-
- Version 3.80 (Apr 28 1996)
-
- ∙ German umlaute are now handled correctly when transforming upper to
- lower case.a
- ∙ Popups changed: the cycle function in popups can now be accessed by a
- keyboard shortcut (see the text left of the popup).o.
- ∙ General clean-up: Many unused functions removed.
- ∙ The self-made info line in windows was replaced by a proper one.
- ∙ The slider size is now correct for empty text files.
- ∙ qed detects now three different types of newlines: TOS, *IX, MAC!
- ∙ File-IO completely new.
- ∙ New MyDials (2.14), no more bugs with '[' in local popup.
- ∙ From now on "^^" is the separator for multi-line tags in tag files and
- ENTER is treated equivalently to RETURN!
- @{B}The tag files have to be adapted because CR is now treated as a
- newline mark (MAC-Support)!!!!@{0}
- ∙ Mac umlaut converting had another bug.
- ∙ If availabe MagiC4-font-selection is used for selection of screen
- font.
- ∙ When replacing strings, endless loops could occur. Fix:
- - The switch 'Wrap to top' is ignored when replacing strings.
- - Search and replace string are checked for being identical.
- ∙ The parameter file is looked up in $QED again.
- Order: $HOME -> $QED -> (start path) -> current directory.
- ∙ Character background in special character selection box is now the
- the same as the background of the box itself.
- ∙ Bug with the font selection in the special character selection box.
-
- Version 3.70 (Feb 07 1996)
-
- ∙ New switch for line wrap: 'show newline'.
- ∙ Umlaut conversion switched on again. ;-))
- ∙ Divers bugfixes by MK@un.maus.de.
- ∙ If a block is selected, ^Y behaves like ^X (Cut).
- ∙ qed now erases the GEM-Clipboard before writing to it. After
- writing, it sends a SH-WDRAW to the desktop and a SC_CHANGED to every
- other application (only with AES-broadcast available).
- ∙ qed doesn't crash any longer after receiving an empty VA_START.
- ∙ No annoying bing when expanding shortcuts
- ∙ New target formats for umlaut conversion: LaTeX, HTML and ASCII.
- ∙ You can load (at your own risk!) obsoleted parameter files. qed will
- try to interprete the old configuration as far as possible..e
- ∙ Two additional error templates.
- ∙ Startup cleaned up, argument evaluation (ARGV & Co.) re-done.
- ∙ qed starts the search for its own parameter file in $HOME.
- ∙ Some SE-extensions, definition of protocol version 1.01!
